Wine & Food Festival

On Saturday, February 1st, forty-nine members and guests arrived at Clearwater Yacht Club for a evening of fun, food and wine.  The committee working closely with the CYC managers and chef put together a fantastic menu paired with great wines for everyone's enjoyment.


Everyone was welcomed with a glass of J. Roget Champagne served with a assortment of fruit and cheese.  After the Commodore welcomed the eighteen guests present and the invocation was given, the evening began with a Mark West Chardonnay served with Lobster Caprese and Lobster Salad Crostini.  In between courses, a raffle was held with the prizes being, of course, wine.


The evening moved on with Franciscan Sauvignon Blanc and Bacon Wrapped Scallops with Seafood Risotto, then on to a Mark West Pinot Noir with Grilled Chicken and Sausage over Asiago-stuffed Gnocchi.  As if that wasn't enough, we moved on to Estancia Cabernet with Crispy Fried Beef Tenderloin with Stir-fry and Lo Mein Noodles.


All that was finished with Chef Johns in-house home-baked chocolate chip cookies.  A great time was had by all.


Thank you to the committee consisting of Eileen and Bob Gunther, Elaine Horn, Sherry Vincent and Bob Harmon.  Special thanks to Mary Reinhardt for doing the flyer and name tags.


The evening was made possible with the help of Cyc Manager Tom Brucini, Food and Beverage Manager Austin Taylor and Chef John Yingling and the entire CYC staff who kept the food and wine flowing.
